JD Motorsports announced their 2017 driver line-ups this season for the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Ross Chastain and Garrett Smithley will return for another year with the team, they are happy to announce the addition of Harrison Rhodes, who will replace Ryan Preece in the 01 as Preece returns to the northeast to run more asphalt modified races after a decent Xfinity season in 2016. Chastain will be in the 4 with Smithley in the 0. The year got a little tougher for them though as RCR announced that Ben Kennedy will run 9 races alongside Austin Dillon and Paul Menard in the 2 this year in the series. Kennedy is the grandson of Bill France Jr and nephew of Brian France. JR Motorsports is running at least 4 cars all season with the addition of the 88 as a fifth-car when available for Jr, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne and Alex Bowman, who replaced Jr in the Cup series when he was diagnosed with a concussion. William Byron is joining them in the Liberty University #9, fresh off a strong Truck season with KBM, his title hopes went up in smoke late at Phoenix, literally. he was leading and his engine gave up with laps remaining, he led pretty much all of Homestead and would have won the title if the engine didn't let go.
